Riding Club Showing

We regularly hold Arena Showing at Lower Haddon. The shows are very well attended with around 40 different competitors taking part in In Hand and Ridden Classes for all, with positive feedback and everyone seemed to enjoy the events.
Schedules and Results are published in the Members newsletter.

2016 Open Show Cancelled!!

It is with great regret that your show committee have taken the sad decision to cancel the show this Sunday. I'm sure you can appreciate the early decision has been made because there is already a wet field and the weather forecast this week isn't great. We will endeavor to reorganize the show and of course will inform you all in due course. Anyone who has pre-entered will receive a refund shortly. Thanks everyone, especially Sarah Cotton who has been putting in so much hard work as always.  (27.06.16)

2015 Open Show Report - 05.07.15

The Open Show took part at Aston on 5th July and was attended by over 180 competitors over all classes. We were lucky most of the day with the weather as it started with a warm bright morning and ended with a sunny afternoon, but we had a mid-day torrential downpour, which in some ways was nice as it freshened the air, but caused a short delay in the rings for those competing as everyone had to run for cover under the nearest tree, which wasn’t easy for those on horseback!. It didn’t hold anyone back though and the show continued after a few moments to let the ground, competitors and spectators dry a little and off we all went again with big smiles.

Showing classes were very well supported as were the dressage classes, with jumping numbers slightly down from last year, probably not helped by the long spell of hot weather prior to the show and people being concerned that there may be hard ground, which was a shame as the old turf offered a good covering. The show set up the previous morning and clear down after was also well supported by helpers and it’s true that many hands make light work so I would like to thank everyone whom helped both on the Saturday morning set up and during the show itself, particularly to Natalie Neal whom runs things on the day when I am not around and means I am able to compete.

Now that 2015 has been completed I will shortly start the process for 2016 but before I do I would like to say thanks also to the sponsors whom help make the show financially viable and we will be making a donation to the Oxford Animal Sanctuary in due course. Please see below for class results.
