2008 TROPHY WINNERS

Horse/Pony of the Year

Brief Encountre

1st - 80 points: Brief Encountre (Lisa Edmonds) - Horse of the Year sash & ‘Waterboatman’ Trophy

Only their second year competing with WORC and Brief Encountre (Chips) is shaping up as a very capable replacement for Midge, especially in the dressage arena. They also tried a bit of showing and show-jumping and to Lisa's surprise even got some rosettes for that too!

Our Martine

=2nd 66 points: Our Martine (Angie Handley)

Having to settle for runner-up position this year, after winning the Horse of the Year title last year. They have put in some very creditable performances including the Show Jumping Championships at Lincoln in appalling conditions.

Waterboatman

=2nd 66 points: Waterboatman (Sue Odom)

Well travelled this year, with plenty of long jouneys in July to the dressage qualifiers. However, it was the unexpected qualification and subsequent 3rd place at the Dressage to Music Championships at Addington that have boosted their score just in time!

Archer

4th 58 points: Archer (Matthew Izod) - Pony of the Year sash & 'Golden Houdini’ trophy

Our only pony/junior combination in the top six this year and haven’t they had a great year! The highlights must their first place at the Area Horse Trials and then coming 4th at the national Championships.

Meggie

5th 44 points: Midnight Meg (Amy Griffin)

Has picked up most if not all their points at Show Jumping competitions. By qualifying for the National Championships, they have secured enough points to feature for the first time in the top 6!

4 Leaf Clover

6th 43 points: 4 Leaf Clover (Amanda Atkinson)

A good all round performer, who has picked up points throughout the year from both dressage and jumping. They are going from strength to strength and sure to keep on improving.
