2007 TROPHY WINNERS
Horse/Pony of the Year
1st - 132 points Our Martine (Horse of the Year sash & Waterboatman cup)
Well Done 'Ma' and Angie! - You are both great supporters of the club and you truly deserve this award. There have been many highlights for you this year, including a first in the Members' Novice dressage, Hartpury Indoor SJ Championships, a whole weekend of Area qualifiers in August, National Championships at Lincoln and Angie's personal favourite - Hickstead. The two of you are going from strength to strength and always look to be having so much fun.
2nd - 109 points Oh So Sweet
Diane certainly had her work cut out this year, riding Only a Dream as well. Considering Oh So Sweet didn't compete until May, she has done fantastically well to run up such a high points tally, but maybe qualifying and competing at all those Championships helped!
3rd - 107 points Midge
A creditable third place for Midge's last serious competition year. An unfortunate injury put her out of action for the end of this season's competitions but she had done so well earlier in the year a place in the top six was always secure! The surprise highlight was surely being part of the winning team at the Indoor SJ qualifier at Hartpury - as Midge was never the easiest of show-jumping rides!
4th - 104 points Houdini's Odyssey
Houdini's Odyssey is nothing if not consistent, as he was 4th last year as well. However, he has improved his points score by 21 this year, no doubt that excellent performance at the Horse Trials Championships boosted his score and Abi's confidence.
5th - 92 points Sam
An out and out dressage specialist and great mover - he has set the standard at the Members' Dressage Series. Sam has also been a great asset to the dressage/riding test teams and was placed at Area and Championship level including Dressage to Music.
6th - 83 points Caedlyn Step On (Pony of the Year sash & Golden Houdini cup)
It's great to have the combination of a pony and junior rider in the top six, so Well Done to Caedlyne Step On and Liz. As with Sam, their forte is dressage and they have steadily been picking up points throughout the year at club events, Area qualifiers and National Championships!
