2006 TROPHY WINNERS

Horse/Pony of the Year

Oh So Sweet

1st - 187 points Oh So Sweet (Horse of the Year sash & Waterboatman Cup)

The ‘Horse of the Year’ is literally a runaway winner, with an exceptionally high points tally. She was team’s pathfinder at the Horse Trials Championships and this fitness held her in good stead for the National Championships at Lincoln where she competed with 3 different riders in 4 different tests. No doubt she’s looking forward to a nice quiet rest, but not much chance of that with Diane and Amy both riding her!

Angie & Ma

2nd - 108 points Our Martine

What can we say that Angie doesn’t already know? Always does an accurate dressage test, always jumps a dependable show jumping round and absolutely loves cross country – a thoroughly great riding club horse.

Lisa & Midge

3rd - 106 points Midge

Has really had her share of ups and downs this year, but has still given her all. A fantastic performance at the Horse Trial qualifier was equalled at the Championships by jumping a two stride double in one! Sadly although she also qualified for the National Dressage Championships at Lincoln, a serious field injury put her out of action for the end of the season.

Abi & Lewis

4th - 83 points Houdini’s Odyssey

He started the year as a pretty looking guinea-pig at the Showing Clinic back in April. But in terms of performance, over the last three years, his progress has been really impressive and he has topped this off by competing as an individual at the National Horse Trial Championships.

Karen & Capt. Black

5th - 62 points Captain Black

Another solid all-rounder who has managed to score points in all 3 disciplines this year at both club and team events. He might need a change of name soon, as his colour is fading almost as fast as his cross-country times!

Charlestone's Boy

6th - 55 points Charleston’s Boy (Pony of the Year sash & Golden Houdini Cup)

This pony has had a very solid year, scoring points in all 3 disciplines including the ill-fated Hunter Trial as well as the Open Horse Show. He is a very well deserved winner of 'Pony of the Year'.
